The Municipality of the District of Guysborough is seeking a motivated individual for a carpenter and developmental Building/Fire Inspector (in training) position.
This position provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience by shadowing and training with the Building/Fire Inspector while completing required certifications. During periods when inspections or training are not required, the successful candidate will work as a Carpenter within the Public Works Department, supporting municipal projects and facility maintenance.

Background in carpentry or construction trades
Interest in building inspection and code enforcement
Willingness to complete required training and certification
Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and as part of a team
This position reports directly to the Director and Supervisor of the Public Works Department. The normal working hours will be (35 hours per week) Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., weekends and evenings may be required.
