Staff and Council Learn from African Pilgrimage Committee’s Journey to Ghana
Municipal staff and Council recently had the opportunity to hear firsthand about the experiences of four members of the African Pilgrimage Committee following their participation in the 'Back to Our Roots' pilgrimage to Ghana.
As part of a lunch and learn session held in the Municipal Council Chambers, committee members shared stories, reflections, and personal experiences from their journey. They spoke about the historical and cultural significance of the pilgrimage, the places they visited, and the connections they made along the way.
Staff and Council members had the opportunity to ask questions, share in conversation, and learn more about the impact of this experience and the importance of celebrating African history, heritage, and cultural connections.
The session was a meaningful opportunity for learning and reflection, helping to build greater understanding and awareness within our municipal workplace and community.
We thank the members of the African Pilgrimage Committee for taking the time to share their journey and experiences with us.
