As of 7:00pm, August 8, 2026, the Canso/Hazel Hill Water Utility issue has been resolved. Water conservation efforts are no longer required. Hydrant flushing will be ongoing for the next several days which could cause low water pressure and discolouration. We thank residents for their cooperation and patience while this matter was resolved.

As of 8:30am, August 7, 2026, the Canso/Hazel Hill Water Utility issue has been resolved. Residents may resume regular water consumption. Expect water discolouration. Also, water lines will be flushed later today potentially resulting in low pressure. We thank residents for their patience.

As of 8:40pm, August 6, 2026, the Canso/Hazel Hill Water Treatment Plant has been shut down. It is imperative residents immediately conserve water consumption while we work on repairs to the water main break.

A water main break has been identified in the Canso / Hazel Hill Water Utility.
We are asking residents to immediately conserve water consumption. This will affect the residents of Canso, Hazel Hill, Durrell's Island and Tickle area. Expect low pressure and discoloration. We appreciate the cooperation and patience of residents as we work on repairs.
