District Seven: Councillor Hudson MacLeod

Country Harbour, Stormont, Goldboro, Drumhead, Coddles Harbour

Hudson MacLeod, a former Warden of MODG has filled the Council seat for District # 7, left vacant with the passing of sitting Councillor Rickey McLaren, on November 26, 2021.

MacLeod is known around the Council table, although he hasn’t been there for awhile. He served on Municipal Council from 1988 to 1997, first as District # 7 Councilor, then second term as Deputy Warden for the Municipality. MacLeod left council to take a position with the Sable Gas Project in Goldboro where he worked onshore and offshore from 1997 until the end of the project in 2021. He then retired. 

Mr. MacLeod has been a life long resident of Country Harbour and is married to his wife Colleen. They have three children, four grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. 

During his previous term as Municipal Councillor, he served and chaired many different boards and committees including; Chair of the Milford Haven Nursing Home, Chair of the Sable Community Liaison Committee, board member of the Guysborough County Regional Development Authority and other committees and boards. 

MacLeod is a former member of the Country Harbour Gun Club, served as a junior warden at his church, coached both youth fastball teams and men’s slow pitch teams, coached hockey and worked with other community groups.
