Morien Resources would like to inform residents of Canso, Hazel Hill, Three Mile Lake, Fox Island Main, and the surrounding areas, that a small geological drill program is expected to begin the week of December 1st or in the Lazy Head area. The program is short in duration and is anticipated to take less than two weeks to complete once underway.
To minimize ground disturbance and avoid cutting trees, a helicopter will be used to move the drill rig and equipment to the site, and to move the drill rig between each drill hole. The helicopter will also transport drill core to the Alva Quarry across the road in the Yellow March area. As a result, residents may notice a helicopter flying overhead periodically during daylight hours. Flight paths have been planned to avoid unnecessary noise or disruption, and activity will be limited to the shortest practical duration.
No blasting is involved in this work, and no public road closures or traffic interruptions will occur. All operations will follow provincial safety and environmental standards.
