Based on resident input received through an online survey investigating public views on council size and other input from municipal staff and Council members, Stantec has determined potential council sizes and has mapped boundaries of potential districts to be represented by Councillors for public review. Stantec will present the results of the Council Size survey and potential electoral boundary scenarios at the following public meetings:
1. Monday, April 4 – Guysborough Council Chambers, 33 Pleasant Street, Guysborough
2. Tuesday, April 5 – Fanning Education Centre, 129 Tickle Road, Hazel Hill
3. Wednesday, April 6 – Country Harbour Gun Club, NS-316, Cross Roads, Country Harbour Mines.
Each meeting will follow a public open house format from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. followed by a formal presentation by Stantec’s consultant on current governance, council size, and boundary delineation. All are welcome and encouraged to attend. Stantec’s consultant will look forward to hearing the views of all interested citizens on the Municipality’s future governance.
